Summary
Our first meet proved to be a great start to the season. The girls placed 3rd and boys placed 4th, but we were SO close to 2nd in both. The girls were 4 points from 2nd place and the boys were 3 points from 2nd place.
The team is rounding out nicely this year spreading points around nicely between sprints, jumps, throws, and runs. The girls picked up points in every event except the 1500m (no one ran) and the 4x200m (disqualified for hand-off out of zone). The boys picked up points in every event except the 600m (no one ran) and the 1500m.
We had a huge improvement over last with our distance peformances. Last year across all indoor meets we only scored once in the 1000m and once in the 600m. This meet we had the following:
- 3000m
- Charlotte - 1st
- Ben - 6th
- 1000m
- Lauren - 3rd
- Gwen - 6th
- David - 6th
- 600m
We had a ton of first time performances - see the list below - including many that placed.
We had 3 athletes win their events
- Charlotte - 3000m
- Molly - Shot Put
- Tyler - 55m
We had multiple, multi-event scorers, including:
- Quadruple Scorers: Cassidy, Tyler
- Triple Scorers: James, Jake
- Double Scorers: Amanda, Lauren, Iso, David

We've got 5 athletes already qualified for the Open meets in a total of 9 events - with a lot more to come. This is a nice improvement over last year's first meet where we had 3 athletes qualify in 4 events.
